Corvettes and Classics car show is designed for Valley Corvettes members to display their Corvettes and classic automobiles. It was held July 20th, 2024 at Kleiner Park in Meridian. This year in addition to Valley Corvettes club members, family and friends were invited to also participate. There was music, sponsor displays, raffle prizes and a 50/50 drawing in addition to the spectacular vehicles!
Valley Corvettes club President & Event Coordinator Randy Pardue's recap:
We had 75 vehicles in attendance in spite of the forecasted 105° heatwave. True dedicated car show participants!
Once all the vehicles were parked, the VFW 400 Post Meridian provided a special Color Guard, who presented Colors of the American and Idaho flags and paid respect to those serving, both present and past, in the Armed Forces.
Our Premier Club Sponsor, Fairly Reliable Bob’s had a great display of cars at the event. Bobby Petersen had his annual Breakthrough T1D (formerly Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation-JDRF) fundraiser Corvette on display and was selling tickets. He gave away a trip to Mexico/Caribbean for those who had purchased fundraiser tickets at the Corvettes & Classics 2024 event.
Barbecued hamburgers and hot dogs, etc. were provided by Meridian Lions Club. There was plenty of cold water and a pavilion to provide shade for those that needed a break from the heat.
Dan and Sugar Drummond tirelessly sold tickets for the 50/50 drawing. There might have even been a competition between the two on who sold the most tickets? And Debbie Johnson had a great array of raffle prizes, as always!
